Stephen R. Knox Member

Stephen R. Knox has extensive experience in complex commercial, business, environmental, construction, employment and professional malpractice litigation before federal and state trial and appellate courts, as well as alternative dispute resolution panels, in several jurisdictions around the country. He is a seasoned trial lawyer with substantial experience before judges and juries in a variety of business disputes.
After serving a judicial clerkship in a New Jersey state trial court, Steve worked as an Assistant Prosecutor and Special Deputy Attorney General in the Essex County Prosecutors Office and then entered private practice in 1979. He has served as a court appointed mediator in many commercial disputes and a party arbitrator under the auspices of the American Arbitration Association.
Steve successfully defended the State’s first prosecution under New Jersey’s Regulated Medical Waste Act, and he participated in the successful defense of New Jersey’s largest ever criminal antitrust prosecution. He has also successfully counseled numerous business and individual clients on the avoidance of litigation and achievement of just and reasonable settlements. He has lectured to various groups on a wide range of topics, including department store security, punitive damages, police training, and employment law.
