Mr. Callahan is an experienced member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department. His practice is primarily concentrated in the areas of insurance litigation, products liability, and workers’ compensation. He regularly appears in state and federal courts in New York and New Jersey and has litigated in federal courts in Florida, North Carolina, and Texas.
Through Mr. Callahan’s insurance litigation practice, he is familiar with and has been involved in all aspects of commercial insurance products from premiums to claims. He regularly represents insurance carriers and third party administrators on such issues as retrospective premium formulas and calculations, premium credits, large deductible formulas and calculations, and allegations of claims mismanagement.
In the other areas of his civil litigation practice, Mr. Callahan represents insurers in workers’ compensation and products liability matters. He has litigated and resolved serious injury, wrongful death and permanent disability suits and has advised clients on issues arising from these suits. Mr. Callahan has an extensive background in sophisticated commercial and product liability negotiations, arbitrations, and litigations. His product liability experience includes matters involving industrial machinery, all-terrain vehicles, boats, and electronic musical instruments.
