Angela M. Scafuri Member

Ms. Scafuri is a member in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department. While her insurance practice spans a broad spectrum of complex matters for both insurers and policyholders, Ms. Scafuri focuses her practice on the defense of insurance companies in complex premium, coverage and insurance bad faith actions. She has represented insurers in numerous matters to recover substantial amounts under large, loss sensitive commercial insurance programs as well as to defend claims and counterclaims relating to regulatory, claims and underwriting issues associated with these programs.
Ms. Scafuri also advises insurers and policyholders with respect to coverage, claims handling and bad faith issues and has represented insurers in declaratory judgment, breach of contract and statutory bad faith actions. She has appeared in and argued cases at both the trial and appellate levels, and has successfully defended clients in federal courts throughout the country.
While at Seton Hall, Ms. Scafuri published a note in the Seton Hall Journal of Sport Law entitled “Antitrust—National Football League Relocation Policies Do Not Create an Anti-Competitive Environment.” In addition, she served as an Associate Editor for the Journal.
Ms. Scafuri’s pro bono legal work includes her volunteer work for the New Jersey Battered Women’s Legal Advocacy Project and her participation as a Special Civil Part Mediator, Superior Court, Somerset County.
Ms. Scafuri is conversant in both Spanish and Italian.
