Benjamin E. Akselrad is an Associate at Bressler. He is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Ben is part of the firm’s Tax, Estate Planning and Administration, Probate Litigation, and Private Client practice groups.
Ben is a member of Bressler's Senior Issues: Counseling and Litigation Defense group. The lawyers in this group have a shared interest in providing counsel to corporate clients who confront issues affecting seniors.
Ben earned a Tax LL.M. masters degree from the NYU School of Law, completed two clerkships, and served the New Jersey Superior Court as a mediator.
One clerkship took place at the trial level of New Jersey’s Superior Court. There, he worked as a law clerk for the following three judges: (1) Morris County’s Assignment Judge, the Honorable Stuart A. Minkowitz, A.J.S.C.; (2) the Honorable Donald S. Coburn, J.S.C. (Retired); and (3) the Honorable Jared D. Honigfeld (Retired, but temporarily assigned to the Law Division).
Ben also completed a pro bono clerkship at the trial level of the U.S. District Court in Newark, New Jersey. There, he worked as a pro bono law clerk for the Honorable Susan D. Wigenton, U.S.D.J., D.N.J.
Before graduating from Rutgers Law School, Ben completed externships at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the in-house legal department of a solar energy company serving Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and New Jersey.
Ben also graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where he earned a B.S. in Business. His major was Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation.
