Lisa Gonzalo is an associate in the Commercial Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s Professional Liability and Insurance groups.
Lisa brings a diverse background of litigation experience to the firm that includes a variety of types of commercial litigation matters in New Jersey state and federal courts, including general commercial business and contract disputes, franchise litigation, legal malpractice defense, consumer class actions, and defense of claims against mortgage lenders. Lisa’s broad litigation experience also includes representing the United States before the U.S. Court of International Trade in disputes arising under U.S. customs and tariff laws.
Lisa is a business-minded attorney with eight years of prior financial industry experience. Prior to law school, she worked for two broker-dealers as a licensed securities broker, insurance producer, and financial consultant. Lisa is also a Gulf War veteran who served in the United States Air Force from 1990-1994, and is a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Achievement Medal.
Lisa received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she served as a member of the Fordham Journal of Corporate Law & Finance and completed the Summer Honors Law Program at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Lisa completed her B.A. in Political Science, with highest honors, from Rutgers University.
