Mary A. Powers represents clients in estate planning, estate administration, income taxation, gift planning, wealth transfer, retirement planning, guardianships, probate litigation and family dispute resolutions. She also counsels clients with respect to stock option plans, deferred compensation and employment agreements, particularly as it relates to tax issues. She has also served as a mediator in emotionally charged probate matters.
Mary focuses on the clients by listening to their concerns, analyzing their financial situation and reviewing their family history. She presents the tax consequences of various plans and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of alternative strategies. Her goal is to craft a plan for the client that insofar as possible achieves the client’s goals in the context of the state and federal tax provisions. Mary enjoys working with clients to meet their needs and finds the structuring of creative solutions to clients’ problems both stimulating and rewarding.
