Frederick K. Schoenbrodt, II represents clients in trust and estate matters and is chair of the firm’s Estate Planning and Administration practice.
Fred represents wealthy individuals and families in their personal legal matters, including sophisticated estate and tax planning, charitable planning, and the administration of estates and trusts. He serves as counsel to private foundations and public charities and advises the trustees of family trusts.
An accomplished trust and estate attorney with broad expertise, Fred is the successor author of New Jersey Estate Planning, Will Drafting and Estate Administration Forms, published by Matthew Bender. He serves on the Board of Consultors of the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Possessing extensive experience in the use of tax-efficient charitable giving techniques, Fred advises organizations on their giving programs and donors on the structure of their gifts. He is a trustee of the Community Foundation of New Jersey and serves on the foundation’s Executive Committee. Fred has served on and led the planned giving, major gifts, and development committees of charitable organizations.
In addition to his law degree, Fred holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from the New York University School of Law. Prior to entering private practice, he served as an Army judge advocate with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii.
