Fred Schoenbrodt to Speak at CLE seminar on Income Tax Issues in Estate Planning and Administration

On November 30, 2018 at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, Fred Schoenbrodt of the firm’s Estate Planning and Administration practice will serve as a panelist for a CLE seminar on “Income Tax Issues in Estate Planning and Administration.” With the substantial increase in the federal estate tax exemption and the repeal of the New Jersey estate tax, the income tax considerations of a client’s estate plan have moved to the forefront of the estate planning conversation. This panel will discuss a wide range of these considerations. Fred will speak specifically on a form of trust known as a grantor trust, where the creator of the trust is treated as the owner of the trust’s assets for income tax purposes, and discuss tax planning opportunities using both grantor and non-grantor trusts.
