Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. is seeking an associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its collaborative and fast-paced Labor & Employment practice group in the firm’s Birmingham, AL office. This position will provide the associate with opportunities to represent employers from Fortune 500 companies, as well as regional and local companies, on a full range of employment and labor-based issues that arise in today’s ever-changing employment relationship. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated associate seeking to grow their labor and employment expertise while being part of a supportive and exciting practice group.

The associate will work directly with clients and with a team of partners and other associates. Associates in this group have the opportunity to lead and to collaborate at a high level, doing substantive legal work. The associate will also have the opportunity to mentor and supervise more junior attorneys, as well as support staff.

Job requirements:

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team member interested in exploring all aspects of a labor and employment practice.  The candidate should possess strong oral and written communications skills with knowledge of state, federal, and local employment laws and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.  Prior experience (3-5 years) practicing in the areas of labor and employment in a law firm or in-house setting is strongly preferred.  Prior experience representing financial services companies or serving as a judicial clerk is also desirable.  The candidate must be a member of the Alabama bar in good standing and hold a J.D. from an accredited law school.
