Real estate is often one of the largest assets for consideration in a marital estate. Not only does real estate include the marital residence, but also vacation homes, commercial properties and/or investment properties. A determination of what portion of the property is subject to equitable distribution, as well as what portion if any, is exempt from the division of assets, is a key factor for consideration in the drafting of a property settlement agreement (PSA).
