Gregg McCormick is an Alabama-based trial lawyer with a national practice. He has been counsel of record for his city, his county, and his state.  Gregg has represented clients in dozens of FINRA arbitrations throughout the United States, complex financial industry arbitration and trial matters pending or arising in jurisdictions outside of the continental U.S., two purported nationwide-class actions against a national commercial air carrier, an airworthiness matter stemming from a fatal crash oversees, and numerous state-court matters, both within and outside of Alabama. 

Gregg’s successes include achieving “zeros”—complete defense victories—in difficult arbitration matters, dismissal of a purported nation-wide class action against a national air carrier, countless favorable pre-trial resolutions, numerous pre-trial dismissals, and the successful defense of the constitutionality of the State of Alabama’s property tax system after a four-week trial that included 36 witnesses, greater than 700 admitted exhibits, and resulted in a 1,258-page opinion.

  • Member of prevailing trial team in a four-week federal court bench trial in which the plaintiffs challenged the constitutionality of the State of Alabama’s property tax system. The trial included testimony from 36 witnesses, the admission of greater than 700 exhibits, and resulted in a 1,258-page opinion.  Lynch v. State of Alabama, 2011 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 155012 (N.D. Ala., Nov. 7, 2011).  In early 2012, the determinative parts of the court’s decision were affirmed by the United State Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.  L. et al. v.   • Achieved dismissal of all claims in a purported nationwide class action against national air carrier. Grimsley v. Southwest Airlines, co., 2012 WL 1339722 (N.D. Ala. April 17, 2012)
  • Achieved dismissal of key claims in nationwide class action against national air carrier. Levitt v. Southwest Airlines, Co., 846 F. Supp. 2d 956 (N.D. Ill. 2012).
  • Achieved successful resolution for commercial airline in claims of in-flight exposure to toxins
  • Achieved successful resolution for international chemical company in defense of consolidated toxic tort claims of over 1600 plaintiffs
  • Prevailing party in a TRO and injunction action and successful representation of a minority shareholder of an automotive sales corporation
  • Successful defense of the State of Alabama’s ad valorem personal property tax system in the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals. Gordon, Dana, Still, Knight, and Gilmore, LLC v. Jefferson County, 44 So. 3d 491 (Ala. Civ. App. 2009) writ denied at 44 So. 3d 502 (Ala. 2010)
  • Successful representation of a national financial firm in matter stemming from the construction of large biodiesel facility in Missouri
