On Saturday, February 24, 2018, nearly 200 people experiencing homelessness were given the opportunity to access an array of services (legal, housing, medical services, identification services, veterans' services, employment services, pet care, haircuts, etc.) in a system which is often difficult to understand and navigate. Project Homeless Connect is a one day event sponsored by Hands On Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama. Several different agencies provided services, and as part of The Birmingham Bar Volunteer Lawyers Program, Preston Martin, Lacy Triplett and Emily Vande Lune volunteered their time and talent for the legal portion of the day’s program.
