On November 21, 2019, Gerd Stabbert participated in a “Sleep Out” in Newark, NJ, to raise funds and awareness for Covenant House, which is a shelter for kids experiencing homelessness and trafficking. In an act of solidarity with the 4.2 million young people who experience homelessness each year, Gerd joined the Chester Lions Club and spent the night sleeping on the street in Newark.

Each year, the Sleep Out raises funds and awareness for the Covenant House New Jersey, an organization that provides shelter, safety and support to nearly 2,000 homeless children each night across the U.S. Gerd's two-person team raised $5,050.
