On Tuesday, July 31, 2018, Partners for Women and Justice (“PFWJ”) and Bressler hosted a cocktail party to welcome the Third Annual Ronnie Ann Powell intern. The ten-week summer program is designed to provide a law student with hands-on experience representing victims of domestic violence. This year’s scholarship recipient is Francesca Buarne, a City University of New York Law School student.
The internship was established by PFWJ and Bressler in memory of Ronnie Ann Powell, a Principal at Bressler and a longtime volunteer at Partners, who died suddenly in 2015. PFWJ is a domestic violence organization that Ronnie was devoted to for many years and which the firm continues to support though the Pro Bono partnership.
