Position Summary

Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C., a dynamic and rapidly growing law firm with a national practice, seeks an entry-level to early-career Legal Assistant for our New York office. This role provides administrative and organizational support to Principals, Associates, and senior team members within the Commercial Litigation practice group. This position offers excellent hands-on training and mentorship in commercial litigation workflows, court procedures, and case management. Hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday through Friday. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with organizing and maintaining electronic and physical case files and documents within the firm’s document management system.
  • Support case tracking, docketing, and scheduling of hearings, depositions, client meetings, and critical deadlines.
  • Request, retrieve, and organize case-related records, documents, and transcripts.
  • Assemble, paginate, and prepare deposition exhibits, witness files, and trial binders.
  • Serve as a professional point of contact, interacting with firm personnel, clients, outside vendors, and court personnel.
  • Update and maintain case indexes, tracking spreadsheets, and departmental databases.
  • Assist with the preparation and electronic filing (e-filing) of routine court notices, pleadings, and transmittal letters.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Education

  • 0–2 years of administrative, professional office, or legal internship experience; prior exposure to litigation or legal coursework is a plus.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and rigorous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid foundational analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an eagerness to learn litigation procedures.
  • Familiarity with document management technology or legal software preferred (training will be provided).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
