Florham Park, NJ (June 28, 2023) –Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. has been selected as a NJBIZ 2023 Empowering Women Honoree. This award honors organizations that invest in, elevate, and support women leaders. To be selected, honorees had to demonstrate a track record of recruiting, hiring, and promoting women. “At Bressler, we are committed to creating a culture where women have the same opportunities as men to develop, lead, and grow their practices and to doing what we can to help increase diversity and gender equality within the legal profession,” said Diana Manning, Firm Managing Principal.

Over the years, Bressler has created a Women's Initiative Network (WIN), a Diversity Promotion Network (DPN), and a mentoring program for women, all of which increase professional development, mentorship, and educational opportunities. As a testament to the success of its programs, Bressler elected its first female managing principal in April 2021. In addition, women comprise 40% of the Firm's Executive Committee and Chair more than half of Bressler's internal committees and sub-committees, including the Compensation, Hiring, Partnership Tracking, Marketing, and Associate Development Committees. In May of 2023, Bressler achieved Mansfield Certification, demonstrating its commitment to consider at least 30% of women, attorneys of color, LGBTQ+ attorneys, and attorneys with disabilities for Firm leadership and governance roles, equity principal promotions, all hiring, and participation in client pitches.

Bressler’s efforts to empower women extend to its philanthropic and community endeavors. Firm attorneys are encouraged to engage in community initiatives and professional organizations that support and stimulate equality. Bressler attorneys are likewise involved in the women lawyers’ sections of numerous local, state, and national bar associations and engage in pro bono efforts that target women's issues, such as Partners for Women and Justice, First Light Homeless Shelter for Women and Children, Battered Women Legal Assistance Project, Deirdre's House, and pro bono legal representation for victims of domestic violence. Through its involvement, Bressler has helped raise awareness of legal and social issues affecting women.

“We are especially proud of this recognition because it honors and celebrates our commitment to the advancement of women,” said Manning. “Many years of planning and hard work have gone into developing these initiatives and programs. While there is always more work to be done, this award serves as a significant milestone on our journey toward gender parity.”
