BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (April 2022)Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. is pleased to announce that the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ) has selected Principals Carole G. Miller and Andrea Greene Wells for its Best of the Bar awards program. As honorees, Miller and Wells will be featured in the April 15 edition of the BBJ, and honored at an event on April 14 at City Club Birmingham.

The BBJ’s Best of the Bar awards program is designed to acknowledge the work of accomplished area lawyers across a wide range of practice areas. Honorees are selected from a public pool of nominations which are submitted through BBJ’s website and are determined by a panel of editorial judges. Top criteria includes contributions to their fields, tangible accomplishments in their practice area, and contributions to their respective firms. Factors such as professional reputation and civic involvement are also considered.

Manning will also be in attendance at the April 14 event.

Miller serves as a Chair of Bressler’s Labor and Employment practice and is a member of the firm's Executive Committee. Throughout her over twenty-five years of practice, Miller has represented employers with regard to the full spectrum of employment claims, with a particular focus in the financial services industry.  Her employment practice is national in scope and she has litigated claims pending in more than thirty states. She regularly appears in court and before FINRA, AAA, and JAMS regarding employment-related matters brought against brokerage firms and other financial services firms and institutions. Miller has been regularly recognized as among the very top in her field in Chambers USA, Best Lawyers, and Super Lawyers, including regular appearances on the Top 50 Alabama Lawyers and Top 50 Mid-South Women Lawyers.  She is also been inducted as a member of the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers. Miller’s commitment to her clients and colleagues extends to the community where she lives and works. She has been active on several Boards, including Leading Edge Institute, a leadership program for Alabama’s college women, Children’s Village Board, and Advisory Board for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She is also a graduate of the Birmingham Project Corporate Leadership initiative.

Wells offers her clients nearly two decades of litigation experience in defending brokerage firms and financial institutions against claims asserted by customers in court and arbitration proceedings throughout the country. She also defends brokerage firms and financial institutions in connection with regulatory investigations conducted by FINRA, the SEC, and various state regulators across the southeast, including Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. Wells focuses her practice on matters involving complex financial products, covering many investment-related products, services, and transactions. She is the Co-Founder of SWIFS (Southeastern Women in Financial Services), a network of more than 130 women attorneys in the financial services arena. A passionate advocate for women, Wells also serves on the Women’s Initiative Committee at Bressler.
