Overview
Mary Jo Reich is Counsel in our firm’s Insurance Regulatory practice area. For 30 years, Mary Jo has counseled insurance companies and broker-dealers on a variety of laws and regulations impacting the retail distribution of insurance and securities products. Mary Jo has extensive experience working with state insurance and securities departments, FINRA, and the SEC on regulatory examinations, investigations, and compliance initiatives. She has counseled clients on insurance distribution selling agreements, restrictive covenants, broker-dealer regulation, FINRA Form U4 and U5 and Rule 4530 reporting obligations, fiduciary duty standards imposed by federal and state regulators, marketing material review and advertising requirements, training and development programs, and internal corporate investigations.
Prior to joining Bressler, Mary Jo was a commercial litigator in private practice at law firms in New York and New Jersey and served as Vice President and Corporate Counsel at The Prudential Insurance Company of America. At Prudential, Mary Jo advised business units on insurance and securities laws and regulations, was lead counsel on responses to multiple market conduct examinations, and counseled with respect to responses to customer complaints, regulatory inquiries, and sales practices litigation.
Mary Jo earned her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and her bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College.
