Millennials — aka Generation Y — are changing the business development rule book. Sometimes referred to as digital natives, millennials are roughly defined as anyone born between 1982 and 2004, though there are no exact dates for when the millennial generation starts and ends.

According to a recent study by the Pew Research Center, the nation’s approximately 75 million millennials outnumber baby boomers in the workforce. This milestone occurred in the first quarter of 2015 as the millennial workforce has risen rapidly. By 2020, millennials will form 50 percent of the global workforce.
