On June 17, 2014, Florida Partner Alex J. Sabo, along with other members of the Florida Securities Dealers Association Board of Governors, will join with a representative of the Florida Office of Financial Regulation and Florida State Representative Barbara Watson to present a seminar entitled, “Elder Fraud and Identity Theft,” to a senior citizens group in Miami Gardens, Florida. 

The interactive presentation will cover such topics as, “Why Target Elderly Persons,” “Who are the Victims of Elder Fraud,” “What to do if You are the Victim of Identity Theft,” “Warning Signs of Potential Fraud,” “Protective Measures that an Elderly Person Can Take To Avoid Becoming The Victim of Fraud,” and “Reverse Mortgages.”

The FSDA, founded in 1933, is the largest and oldest state securities association in the United States.  Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C., has been an active corporate member of the FSDA since the firm opened its Florida office in 2004.  Mr. Sabo has the longest continuous tenure on the FSDA Board of Governors. He also serves as the organization’s secretary and a member of its executive, legislative and educational committees.
