Fred Schoenbrodt will speak on “Basic Estate Administration” at the New Jersey Law Center on Saturday, September 6.
He will discuss the process of probate and estate administration in New Jersey and explain the federal estate tax, New Jersey estate and inheritance taxes, and the basics of fiduciary income tax and other income tax law related to trusts and estates. He will also discuss the mechanics of implementing various post-mortem estate tax planning strategies, including the use of disclaimers and partial qualified terminable interest property (QTIP) elections to establish and fund credit shelter trusts after the testator’s death.
