BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (May 2, 2023) – Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. is pleased to announce that Principal Louis Mendez has been included on the list of attorneys “On the Rise” by The Daily Report’s first annual Southeastern Legal Awards. The Daily Report is a daily legal newspaper based in Atlanta, Georgia. Building on the success of its long-running Georgia Legal Awards, The Daily Report expanded into neighboring states North and South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee to form the inaugural Southeastern Legal Awards. The Awards honor the best our profession has to offer—those individuals and organizations who are taking the industry to the next level.
To qualify for this Award, nominees must be innovators, develop unique practice niches, amass robust books of business, demonstrate strong leadership qualities, show expertise in litigation or transactional work, and be committed to pro bono, charitable, and professional volunteer work.
Louis is a Principal in Bressler’s Insurance and Financial Institutions practice groups. He has experience in a broad range of litigation matters, including representing insurers in contestable life insurance, coverage, and interpleader matters, defense of securities arbitrations and class actions, and other commercial disputes. He also serves as Chair of the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, which has been instrumental in the firm’s work towards a Midsize Mansfield Certification.
“We are proud of Louis’s accomplishments as an attorney, as well as his commitment to the community,” said Diana Manning, the firm’s managing principal. “He is actively involved in the rapidly growing Hispanic community in Alabama, and in early 2022, his pro bono efforts included successfully petitioning the Alabama State Bar to reconsider its prior denial and admit the first DACA recipient to practice law in the State. These are the kinds of values that set Bressler apart.”
“It is an honor to be recognized within the Southeastern legal community,” said Mendez. “I will continue my efforts to serve as a leader within my firm and the community, promoting DEI and providing opportunities to underrepresented groups.”
