Birmingham, Ala (April 29, 2024) - Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. has announced the appointment of new office managing principals in Birmingham, Florham Park, and New York, effective April 15, 2024. These changes are part of the firm's strategic practice of rotating key leadership roles and reshaping its leadership and management structure.
Matthew Penfield is now the Office Managing Principal in Birmingham, replacing Josh D. Jones, who has transitioned to the firm's Management Committee after serving five years in the role. Penfield will continue to lead the firm's Immigration practice while taking on his new responsibilities. His practice includes representing and advising clients in immigration, labor, employment, and general litigation matters. He has experience defending individual, class, and collective action lawsuits and advising clients on employment and non-compete agreements.
Cynthia Borrelli is the new Office Managing Principal in New York and leads the firm's Insurance & Healthcare Regulatory Compliance and Transactional practice group. With nearly 40 years of experience in matters involving state insurance /healthcare regulation and insurance insolvency, she is a member of the Board of Directors and past chairman of the Federation of Regulatory Counsel. She has also chaired the Legal Committee of the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Funds. She is active in the ABA Public Regulation of Insurance Law Committee and serves on the National Health Law Program Board of Ambassadors. Borrelli is also involved in mentoring programs within the firm and in her local community.
Frederick K. Schoenbrodt, II is the new Office Managing Principal in Florham Park, succeeding former Firm Managing Principal Diana C. Manning, who, along with Jones, has transitioned to the firm's Management Committee. In addition to his new role as Office Managing Principal, he will Chair the firm's Management Committee and continue to lead the firm's Private Client practice. With over twenty-five years of experience as a trust and estate attorney, Schoenbrodt brings extensive expertise and deep technical knowledge to the work he does for his clients. Before entering private practice, he served as an Army judge advocate with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii.
