MIAMI, Fla. (July 2021)Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. is proud to announce that Miami Principal Michael A. Shifrin has been appointed to the board of directors of Opa-locka Community Development Corporation.

“I am honored to have been given the opportunity to join the Opa-locka Community Development Corporation.  I vow to contribute to this organizations continued success by working with its talented team of professionals and fulfilling the OLCDC mission which is to serve and transform under-resourced communities,” said Shifrin.

Shifrin is a principal in Bressler’s insurance and cannabis practice groups where he has experience representing clients ranging in size from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.  As a litigator, he has argued hearings, deposed witnesses, and attended non-jury trials in every judicial circuit in the State of Florida.  Shifrin is passionate about fighting insurance fraud and making a difference in the community through his volunteer efforts.

The Opa-locka Community Development Corporation (OLCDC) was established in 1980 as a nonprofit corporation to address the distressed unemployment conditions, particularly in the Opa-locka and North Dade County, Florida, communities. Since then, the organization’s focus areas have grown to include arts/culture, social services, education, health/wellness, small business development and financial empowerment. It also has expanded its service area beyond Opa-locka. Today, the OLCDC serves North Miami-Dade County, including Opa-locka, Miami Gardens, North Miami and Liberty City.
