Bressler Welcomes Six Attorneys from UBS Financial Services

 

Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. is pleased to announce the arrival of six securities litigators from UBS Financial Services.

Wes Holston, Principal, Bressler, Amery & Ross (Florida) – Wes began his legal career with Fowler, White as an Associate and later voted Partner prior to joining UBS in 2000. At UBS, Wes was an Executive Director who served as Divisional Counsel and since 2004 has managed the Florida Litigation office. Prior to his legal career, Wes obtained first-hand brokerage experience as a registered representative for Kidder, Peabody and Oppenheimer for five years. In addition to his J.D. from the University of Florida, Wes obtained a M.B.A. (concentration in Finance) from the University of Florida and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University.

Alise Johnson Henry, Counsel, Bressler, Amery & Ross (Florida) – Alise has vast litigation experience: serving as Law Clerk to Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge William C. Turnoff in Miami for three years, practicing in the Commercial Litigation group at Akerman Senerfitt, and then as Senior Trial Attorney for the SEC in Miami for five years, prior to joining UBS in 2007. Alise has her J.D. from the University of Florida and her B.A. from Vanderbilt University. Alise is also on the Roll of Solicitors for England and Wales.

Jon Kaplon, Counsel, Bressler, Amery & Ross (New York) – Jon earned his J.D. from Rutgers Law School where he graduated with Highest Honors in 1986. His undergraduate A.B. degree was earned at Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences. In 2004, Jon joined UBS Financial Services Inc. as a Director and Associate General Counsel in the Firm's Litigation Department. Prior to joining UBS, Jon was a partner in the Litigation Group of the New York City law firm Brauner Baron, and, prior to that, was a Senior Litigation Associate at Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison, also in New York City. Jon served an Internship/Clerkship in the Federal Circuit Court, Third Circuit, with Judge Leonard Garth.

Tracey Salmon-Smith, Counsel, Bressler, Amery & Ross (New Jersey) – Prior to becoming a Director and Associate General Counsel at UBS Financial Services Inc. in 2003 Tracey served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division of the Eastern District of New York and was Of Counsel in the Employment Practice Group at Sills Cummis. Tracey earned her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and her A.B. in English at Dartmouth College.

Randi Perry Spallina, Counsel, Bressler, Amery & Ross (Florida) – Randi began her legal career with Morgan Lewis in California and Florida for eight years, prior to becoming part of the UBS Litigation Group in 2002. She is committed to pro bono work and has served as a guardian ad litem as well as having represented pro bono clients in guardianship, conservatorship, and adoption proceedings. Randi earned her J.D. and undergraduate degrees from the University of Florida.

Rebecca Swenson, Counsel, Bressler, Amery & Ross (Florida) – Rebecca is a seasoned litigator having had prior experience as Staff Attorney at the US Court of Appeals, D.C., including Clerking for the Honorable Robert H. Bork, as a General Litigation Partner at Arnold & Porter in Washington, D.C., as Counsel at the SEC in Boston; and as an Enforcement Attorney at Morgan Stanley. She also spent three years working on pro bono matters with the Legal Aid Society. Rebecca joined UBS in 2004 in its Litigation Group. Rebecca earned her J.D. from Duke University.
