Overview
Emily King is a litigation associate in the Trusts and Estates group representing both individual and institutional clients. She guides executors, administrators and trustees through the administration process and represents them in litigation when disputes arise. Emily also advocates for beneficiaries in claims for breach of fiduciary duty, accountings, will contests, property disputes, and other beneficiary rights. Emily has written and argued motions that prevailed at both the Trial and Appellate levels.
Emily also represents individuals in guardianship proceedings to prevent elder abuse and preserve family wealth. Clients appreciate Emily’s practical approach, attention to detail, and commitment to helping families and businesses navigate challenging circumstances with clarity and care.
While earning her J.D., Emily served as Co-Chair of the Rutgers Law Moot Court Board and Executive Editor of the International Law and Human Rights Journal. She also competed on the National Appellate Advocacy Team and was a Finalist in the David Cohn Appellate Advocacy Competition. Additionally, Emily interned at a family law firm, a medical malpractice firm, and the New Jersey Superior Court.
Before attending law school, Emily worked in the legal department of New York City’s public healthcare system on Medicaid expansion efforts.
