As Bressler continues to grow its national presence, the firm has added six attorneys in New Jersey and Florida in various law firm practice areas

FLORHAM PARK, NJ (February 2022)Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. is pleased to announce the addition of six attorneys across two offices, further rounding out its growing national presence. The incoming group of attorneys have unique experiences and talents which will be of immediate value to the firm’s clients. The associates are in the firm’s New Jersey and Florida offices.

Florham Park, New Jersey

Patrick Medeo, Financial Institutions: Medeo joins the firm as an associate in the financial institutions practice group. Prior to joining Bressler, he served as a law clerk for Justice Jaynee LaVecchia of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and the Honorable Jack M. Sabatino, P.J.A.D. of the New Jersey Superior Court Appellate Division. Medeo’s previous experience includes working with the Anti-Money Laundering Alert Operations team at JP Morgan Chase & Co., and as an Options Exchange Official for Nasdaq, Inc. on both electronic and open outcry options exchanges. Medeo received a J.D., summa cum laude, from Rutgers Law School and a B.S. in Business Administration & Legal Studies with a Certificate in Brand & Reputation Management, cum laude, from Drexel University.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Nicholas Bixler, Insurance Litigation & Cybersecurity, Privacy & Technology: Bixler returns to the firm as an associate in the insurance defense and cybersecurity, privacy and technology practice groups. He is experienced in first party and third party property claims, having represented carriers in litigation at both state and federal court as well as assisted with insurance coverage. Prior to rejoining Bressler, Bixler worked with startups in highly regulated fields including alcohol as well as cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, where he developed experience navigating complex regulatory framework. He also has some experience in cannabis law, advising on Florida’s medical use and vertical integration. Bixler earned a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Miami.

Kirstin Grice, Insurance Litigation: Grice joins the firm as an associate in the insurance litigation group, with a focus on first party property insurance defense. Grice previously served as an associate in other firms working on workers’ compensation matters, healthcare appraisals, and issues related to insurance defense. She received a J.D., cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law after earning a B.S. in Business Administration, also from Florida State. During her time at Florida State, she served as Articles Editor the Law Review and as a Research Teaching Assistant. Grice was a Florida Bar Scholarship recipient, Student Attorney at the F.S.U. Public Interest Law Center, and Phi Delta Phi Legal Honors Society Vice President. She also received the Distinguished Pro Bono Service award.

Kirsten Nowak, Financial Institutions: Nowak joins the firm as an associate in the financial institutions group.  Nowak was an associate at a Florida law firm where she represented claimants in securities arbitration and investment litigation matters. She received a J.D. from Florida State University College of Law, where she was a Staff Editor for the Florida State University Law Review. She received a B.S., magna cum laude, in Business Management from Florida State University.

Saray Noda Ravelo, Business & Commercial Litigation & Insurance Litigation: Ravelo joins the firm as an associate in the business and commercial litigation and insurance litigation groups. Prior to joining Bressler, she worked as a Senior Associate at a law firm in Florida, where she focused her practice on medical malpractice defense and general civil litigation. Ravelo has extensive experience handling medical malpractice defense litigation matters at all stages. Her prior experience in plaintiff’s work, including medical malpractice and civil litigation, further provides a unique framework for advising clients.  Ravelo also uses her nursing education and passion for medicine in analyzing claims and legal issues. She received a J.D from the American University Washington College of Law and a B.S in Nursing from William Paterson University. 

Donisha Weightman, Insurance Litigation: Weightman joins the firm as an associate in the insurance litigation group with a focus on first party property insurance defense. Weightman previously worked as a first party property attorney at a large multi-practice law firm in Florida, where she focused on defending and counseling clients in all aspects of insurance defense matters. Weightman received a J.D. from the Florida Coastal School of Law and a B.A. in Advertising with a Minor in Spanish from Southern Methodist University.
