Overview
Christopher P. Keogh is an Associate in the firm’s Financial Institutions practice group. With over ten years of experience in financial services and securities litigation, Chris focuses his practice primarily in the representation of broker-dealers and financial institutions, and their registered representatives, advisors, and employees in arbitrations, civil litigation, expungement hearings, and regulatory matters. Chris regularly handles matters before state court, FINRA, AAA, and JAMS. In addition to his work in the financial arena, Chris has experience with general litigation, construction law, employment litigation, and professional liability.
While at Fordham Law, Chris participated in the Securities Litigation and Arbitration Clinic where he handled FINRA customer arbitrations through resolution. For his dedication and outstanding performance in the clinic, Chris was awarded the Ann Moynihan Award at graduation. He also received the Archibald R. Murray Public Services Award, magna cum laude, for his devotion to pro bono work while in law school. In addition to his clinic work, Chris was a competitor on Fordham Law’s Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy team, associate editor of the Moot Court Board, associate editor of the International Law Journal, and a teaching assistant for advanced legal writing.
Alongside his law school extracurricular activities, Chris spent a semester working in-house at a national bank where he was engaged in advising bank employees on laws and regulations affecting the banking industry and assisted with litigation management. He also interned for United States Magistrate Judge Anne Y. Shields, Eastern District of New York.
In conjunction with his work at Bressler, Chris is an active FINRA arbitrator and an Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy at Fordham University School of Law, where he teaches law students all phases of trial and assists them in preparation for trial advocacy competitions.
Chris earned his B.S. from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
