Ben Nye

Ben Nye is a counsel with Bressler’s Private Client Group in the Firm’s Alabama office.  Ben regularly prepares wills, pour-over wills, revocable trusts, testamentary trusts, and marital trusts for individuals.   Ben also advises clients in the administration of estates, and he prepares disclaimers, personal representative’s deeds, and other administrative filings to ensure efficient estate administration. 

Ben is admitted in both Alabama and Arkansas and regularly practices in both jurisdictions.  Ben brings a high degree of warmth and empathy to the practice of law and enjoys explaining the intricacies of wills, trusts, estates, and related concepts to clients.  Ben believes that the practice of law should begin and end with a personal touch. 

Ben also volunteers his time with the Volunteer Lawyers of Birmingham (VLB), where he serves as a member of the VLB’s junior board.  He regularly participates in VLB’s domestic relations pro se docket and in pro bono will preparation.  He has previously represented pro bono clients in eviction proceedings.   Ben is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Birmingham and he volunteers at his church.

Before transitioning his practice to focus on estate planning and administration, Ben practiced in labor and employment, commercial litigation and general litigation matters. He defended employers before the EEOC, FINRA, and state human rights commissions, while also taking numerous depositions and second-chairing bench trials.

Ben earned his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law. While in law school, Ben served as lead articles editor of the Washington and Lee Law Review. Ben received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Arkansas.
